Technology & Privacy and Data Security Insurance

You have probably had a few emails from various companies letting you know they are changing their privacy and data security terms and updating their security protocols. There has never been a better time for your business to obtain technology and privacy/data security insurance as cybercriminals are becoming increasingly sophisticated.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation urged Americans to reboot their routers after cybercriminals working under the name VPNFilter compromised more than 500,000 routers and other networking devices. The malware targets networking equipment in small office and home office spaces of Americans according to Cisco.

VPNFilter is able to steal website credentials and issue a self-destruct command, effectively rendering infected devices inoperable. Cisco researchers believe most compromised devices had known public exploits or default credentials that make compromising them relatively straightforward.
